Jellyfish Princess - Carukia barnesi

Today we have an Irukandji for our Jellyfish Princess. They are also known to be one of the most lethal species, though in reality, they are tiny (measuring only 12 to 13 mm) and they are almost invisible to the naked eyes.

This is Princess Carukia barnesi, she’s an elusive one, preferring to stay secret and safe, but when her sisters are in troubles, she’ll come running with all of her might to stand with them :)

The Irukandji is named after a native Australian aboriginal tribe to pay homage to the species’ ancient relationship with the natural culture of the land. They are mostly found in Australia, though one species is native to the waters of the Phillipines (Malo filipina).
