Ominous Torch

He's one of my villain characters. The type that looks friendly and unassuming for the longest time in the story, just smiling and cheerful and being slightly standoffish but polite and a little sycophantic. This guy was often just being present without being too helpful throughout the main hero's journey, until when catastrophe occurred and they were trapped in a system of caves underground together. THEN, his true colours show up and being the one with the weapon, this guy is now on the hunt to kill the main character.

Holding his torch up high, he prowled the caves at leisure, taking his time to inflict psychological damage to his enemy, smiling and talking to himself all the while as he drags his sword by his other hand, thinking of how sweet it would be when he finally didn't have to stand the main hero's presence any more.
